Glossary of Terms
- Advanced – Label in Navigation Panel for selecting Data Integration, Scriptlets, Azure AD, Settings, Mobile Modernization Shared Content, Data View Command and Kiosk Builder.
- ARIES – Korbyt Digital Appliance capable of a single output.
- Apps – Create specialized sections within your Mobile Employee Engagement Platform.
- Audiences – Organized by Korbyt Administrators for Korbyt Anywhere users to be used in a Message Campaign assignment. Audiences may be created manually or dynamically using Korbyt Anywhere user metadata such as location, department, manager, tags, and other generic and customizable metadata fields available to administrators.
- Azure AD – Azure Active Directory is Microsoft’s cloud-based identity and access management service.
- Carousel – The Carousel element in Korbyt Builder provides content authors the ability to add multiple content items from the media library to a carousel. Authors set the item transition type, duration, and order of appearance.
- Clever Playlist – Allows for no-code triggering, dynamic content sourcing, and content block weighting.
- Cloud hosting – Korbyt provides secure and scalable cloud-based hosting for the Korbyt platform.
- CMS – Content Management System.
- CMS User Roles – Multiple user roles are available with a tiered access structure for individuals who will be logging into the CMS to manage the system. More information can be found in Content Managers (CMS) Roles and Permissions
- Content Approval – Provides admin users the ability to set up approval workflows between team members. Korbyt content authors may request Layout publishing approval from Content publishers by clicking the Request Approval feature on the Layout card.
- Courier – Korbyt Couriers provide Korbyt administrators the ability to set up automated content retrieval routines from web-based content repositories. Couriers support integration with Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, and Box. Couriers automatically drop content files (typically images or videos) into the Korbyt Media Library. Couriers can also assign tags to synced content, which can be used to set up automated publishing routines when tags are used with Dynamic Playlists.
- Dashboard – Provides Korbyt administrators with a dashboard view of Korbyt System Health and activity. Includes player connectivity, playlist and campaign activity, bandwidth, storage usage, and more.
- Data Integration – Integration to access a client’s data source(s).
- Data Adapters – Modular software code that manages external data connections.
- Digital Signage – A method to display images, video, web pages, weather, data, menus, or text.
- Delivery – Delivery methods include Email, SMS, Twitter, Phone (text to Voice), Slack and Intranet.
- Elements – Options used to create Layouts for Digital Signage. Can include Date, Time, Text, Images, Videos, sound, Maps, Twitter, Calendar, WEB URLS and others.
- Employees – Targeted Employees for InView or Korbyt Anywhere applications
- Employee Engagement Engine – Feed of content that is meant to engage employees with new and relevant content.
- Groups – Players may be organized into Groups for playlist assignment, reporting, and dashboard views. Players may be added manually or dynamically based on conditional rules and player criteria such as location, player type, screen orientation, player operational status, and/or tags.
- Help – Label in Navigation Panel with a Link to Help Documentation and How-To-Video’s
- Interactive mode – Korbyt supports the use of interactive HTML, CSS, and JavaScript elements and buttons and enables content authors to create powerful interactive experiences for digital signage, kiosks, and mobile device applications.
- Inview – Feature that allows content to be delivered to Employee desktops.
- KDA – Korbyt Digital Appliance, can include supported 3rd-party hardware
- Kiosk Builder – Kiosk Builder can be found under the Advanced Tab in the Navigation Panel for building Interactive touch screen displays.
- Korbyt – A Cloud-based SaaS environment providing scalability for delivering Digital Communications.
- Korbyt Anywhere – A Korbyt feature allowing content to be provided to Mobile Devices.
- Label – Navigation Panel in the Korbyt Tenant for selecting Signage Resources, Features, and Options.
- Launchpad – A feature of the Signage Label that allows you to quickly assign content to a display.
- Layout – Used to present content using useful elements for creating customizable visuals.
- LEO – Korbyt Digital Appliance capable of up to six outputs
- Live Content Preview – Allows content authors to preview Layouts in multiple screen resolutions before publishing.
- Media – Content that can be Pictures, Videos, Text, etc.
- Media Manager – Provides Korbyt Administrators a searchable storage library for uploaded and Korbyt-created content, including Layouts, videos, images, audio files, and documents.
- Messages – Messages represent content organized into a viewable format intended for display of end-node devices for Korbyt Anywhere users.
- Metadata – Metadata is “data that provides information about other data”. In Korbyt, this most refers to information points a player knows about themselves (room, floor, ect) that can be used to evaluate instructions for playlists or other commands.
- Navigation Panel – Panel located to the left in the Korbyt tenant for navigation to features and options.
- On-Target Content – Subscription service providing News, Weather, and Sports in a Graphic Format.
- Player – Korbyt Digital Appliance or 3rd Party-supported device (ChromeBox, Brightsign).
- Player Groups – Players can be placed in groups, allowing for content to be assigned to a group instead of to each individual player.
- Player Screenshots – Provide Korbyt administrators with a screenshot of the current content playing on a media player. Accessed through the Players page, Administrators may optionally request updated screenshots by clicking the Screenshot button.
- Playlist – Playlists are linear loops of content set up for distribution to media players. Playlists may contain Layouts, or full-screen Images and Videos. Playlists may be set to play at all dates and times or may be set to play at specific scheduled intervals. There are two types of playlists: Static and Dynamic.
- Playlist (Dynamic) – Dynamic Playlists are created with tags and function by rotating tagged content items (images or videos) on a pre-set duration.
- Playlist (Static) – Static Playlists contain content added manually in a drag-and-drop fashion from the media library panel in the Playlist screen. Content may be ordered in any fashion by the administrator. Transitions and duration may be set per playlist item.
- Playlist Schedule – Schedule playlists and content items to play at specific times to maximize content effectiveness for changes in audience demographics and behaviors.
- Posts – Display short posts on the Home Feed of your Mobile Employee Engagement Platform. Posts are targeted to Audiences and may be scheduled for future delivery and accompanied by a push notification for urgent messages.
- Provision – Method to connect a Media Player to your specific Tenant.
- Quizzes – Allow the Korbyt administrator to send quizzes to end users for display within a mini-app or on the news feed. Question types include multiple choice, True/False, and Text Area.
- Relevant Refresh – Found in the Navigation Panel, under Signage. Analyzes selected Playlists, finds related content, and then assigns the relevant content to the Playlist.
- Remote Management – Korbyt Administrators have remote control over Korbyt Digital Appliances and can monitor player hardware health, perform device upgrades, reboots, send scriptlets, perform device check-ins, and take screenshots, all from the Player user interface page.
- Reports Provide users with standard reports that provide administrators with both media player proof of play reports, end-user activity reports, and system administrator audit trail reports
- RSS Feed – Korbyt supports the use of RSS-based content feeds as a content source for news, weather, stocks, and other types of external content. The RSS Feed module allows content authors to designate a feed’s appearance type (scrolling or paging), set the feed URL, set the number of content items, set the content duration, and apply styles.
- Scriptlet – A Scriptlet is a Korbyt player script that runs in a sandbox on the player and allows users to create external data integrations or specific events at the player
- Settings – Found in the Navigation Panel, the Advanced Label configures the Korbyt Tenant for General settings, Korbyt Anywhere, Digital Signage, Delivery, and Pre-defined layout settings.
- Signage – Feature in the Navigation Panel for accessing Launchpad, Layouts, Playlists, Board Templates, Boards, Players, Player Groups, Optics, ML Broadcast, Relevant Refresh, and Surveys
- Storage – Content storage is included with the Korbyt platform. Storage is backed up daily.
- Surveys – Provides Administrators the ability to create and send surveys to Korbyt Anywhere users. Question types include multiple choice, True/False, Text Area, and Numeric Scale.
- Tag – Content administrators can add descriptive metadata tags to Korbyt content, players, and users. Tags may then be used to search and create rules-driven messaging and playlists.
- Tenant – Specific Corporate or user account.
- Text Element – The text element allows you to display plain text, text alongside a picture, and the time and date.
- Urgent Alerts – Content determined to be Urgent Messages that require immediate action.
- Users (Desktop / InView / Korbyt Anywhere) – Users are the individuals who consume content through the Desktop(InView) or Korbyt Mobile & Web applications.
