What are Category Settings

Category settings allow you to control how others interact with our categories.  These settings may affect the content management system or the Mobile and Web Experience.

Select Audience

Select Audience allows you to target your category to specific groups of users. For more details about targeting Categories, refer to How to Target a Category.

Private Draft

Private Drafts are used to control whether or not others can see your category in the Content Management System.  When you enable a Category as a Private Draft, nobody will be able to see this category until you disable the setting.

Auto-Subscribe

Automatically add new and existing users to specific Categories. When set to Enabled, existing users in the targeted Audience(s) will immediately be subscribed . New users will begin following the category upon joining the tenant.  Users can unfollow categories at any time in the Mobile Application or Web Experience by clicking Unsubscribe.

If you change the Auto-Subscribe option from Enable to Disabled, users in targeted audiences will no longer be immediately subscribed.  Those who have already subscribed will continue to see category content in their news feed.

User Submission

Use this setting to enable users to publish content from the Mobile Application or Web Experience.  When enabled, users will be able to publish content to the Category.

Information with solid fill  This setting will only be available if you have enabled User Posts for your tenant. See Settings for more information.

Auto-Publish User Content

Automatically publish any user generated content submitted to the category.  When set to enabled, any content users publish to this Category in the Mobile Application or Web Experience will be immediately visible to all other subscribed users.  When set to disabled, any user posts will first have to be reviewed and approved by either a Tenant Administrator, Administrator or Approver before being visible in the Mobile Application or Web Experience.

Information with solid fill  This setting will only be available if you have enabled User Posts for your Category.
