How to transcode videos for Korbyt

Introduction

In this article we will show you how to transcode videos that have a higher bitrate of 5 mbps. This is the default limitation on video bitrates within Korbyt.

 

Option 1:  Quick and Easy – CurtConvert

Use this program to convert your video file with one single step. This will re-encode the video file an allow it function in all channels of Korbyt.
 

  1. Click on the large [+] button and select your video that you wish to re-encode.
  2. Select the Codec
  3. Click on the Folder Icon to choose its destination folder.
  4. Click CONVERT at the bottom of the page.
  5. Upload the resulting file to your Korbyt Media Library.

 

Option 2:   More Customization – Handbrake 

https://handbrake.fr/ – Download the latest version of Handbrake here. (Instructions and screenshots below are from Handbrake version 1.3.3)

    1. Open Handbrake and select your video that you wish to re-encode.
    2. Select Video Tab.
    3. Suggested Korbyt Settings below.
      – Video Codec: H.264 (x264)
      – Avg Bitrate: 4900
      – 
      Check 2-Pass Encoding and Turbo First Pass
           
    4. OPTIONAL STEP – Remove sound and lower file size.
    5. Select Audio Tab.
    6. Click Clear. 
    7. Select Destination Folder.
    8. Change file extension from .m4v to .mp4
    9. Click Save
    10. Click Start Encode at the top of the Screen.
                
    11. Upload the resulting file to your Korbyt Media Library.
