How to Factory reset a KDA, an Aries and/or Leo model player

The Steps below will guide the user on how to do a Factory rest on the KDA-Aries and/or KDA-Leo Model player.

Please NOTE: by doing a factory reset all network settings will be wiped out. There is also the possibility that will need to be provision again.

Steps for Factory Reset of KDA

Models that can be factory reset using the steps below are: KDA-904, 905, 909, 1010, 1040, 1060.

  1. Connect a  keyboard and monitor to the KDA
  2. Power Cycle the KDA
  3. While is turning ON during the reboot keep clicking on F8
  4. Click on F8 it until a menu appears
  5. From the menu select Repair this computer
  6. The whole process of factory reset will take about 40 minutes. They KDA will do it on its own
  7. When the KDA is reset it will go back to the base image the unit was built with.
  8. When the Factory reset is complete, the unit will have to be configure with network settings (STATIC or DHCP)
  9. The unit will have to be upgrade to the version it was prior to the reset

 

Steps for Factory Reset of Aries and Leo Players

  1. Connect a USB keyboard and monitor to the player
  2. Power cycle the player.
  3. Pres on F7 to access the boot option screen.
  4. Select UEFFI option.
  5. It might take up to 45 Minutes.
  6. When the Aries/Leo is reset it will go back to the base image the unit was built with.
  7. When the Factory reset is complete, the unit will have to be configure with network settings (STATIC or DHCP)
  8. The unit will have to be upgrade to the version it was prior to the reset
