BEFORE INSTALLING
Please take note of your screens Tizen Operating system version as the links for the software will vary.

System requirements:  Samsung display running Samsung Tizen 6.5 or 7 using SSSP 6 or Tizen 3 or 4 using SSSP4

 

Installation Instructions Through the Display

1. Press the home key on the TV remote
2. Go to the “URL Launcher Settings”
3. Select “Install Web App”
4. Enter the URL that is SPECIFIC TO YOUR SCREEN OS
   1. NOTE – The URL must be entered all lowercase and will only function on Samsung Displays
   2. NOTE – The URL is different based on your screen’s Operating System version
   3. For Tizen 7, 6.5, running SSSP6 – Enter the URL    https://www.korbyt.com/tizen/sssp_10
   4. For Tizen 3 or 4 running SSSP4 ONLY – Enter the URL    https://www.korbyt.com/tizen
5. Select the “Done” button.
6. The application should download, install, and automatically start
7. The device will show a new Korbyt provisioning token displayed on the screen.

To Provision the Player to your Tenant

1. Login to your Korbyt Tenant and navigate to Players.
2. Click Provision Player and enter the token to provision the device in Korbyt.

3. Rename the new device if required.
4. Assign playlists or other content to the player.

USB Installation Instructions For Tizen 6.5 or 7 ONLY

1. Download the korbytplayer.wgt file from the following link
   1. https://www.korbyt.com/tizen/sssp_10/KorbytPlayer.wgt
2. Download the SSSP Config XML file from the following link
   1. https://www.korbyt.com/tizen/sssp_10/sssp_config.xml
3. Format a USB drive using FAT32.
4. Create the folder “SSSP” on the USB drive.
5. Copy the Korbyt player files (“korbytplayer.wgt” and “sssp_config.xml”) to the “SSSP” folder.
6. Turn the screen on and insert the USB drive.
7. Click the Content (Home) button on the remote.
8. Select URL Launcher settings.
9. Select Install from USB Device.
10. Enter your PIN
11. The application will install and start automatically.
12. The device will show a new Korbyt provisioning token displayed on the screen.
13. Provission the playe to your tenant as above

 

NOTE:
To test if the URL works from a browser, use https://www.korbyt.com/tizen/sssp_config.xml , instead of  the standard https://www.korbyt.com/tizen/.
Using the standard url used on the Samsung player on a browser will give a 404 error.

The browser should download an XML file that looks like:

The display grabs the widgetname and appends the .wgt extension and downloads the actual player.
