The New Page landing page for the Knowledge Base is https://product.korbyt.com/help

The new version of this specific article can be found at: https://product.korbyt.com/help/articles/8806008-automating-canva-content-to-korbyt

Please update any of your bookmarks to the new Knowledge Base

For assistance on using the new Knowledge Base, we have a Welcome to the New Korbyt Knowledge Base guide

The new Korbyt Product Page also has sections for submitting feedback on system improvements, a view of our Roadmap of upcoming enhancements, and a change log of all updates.

Combining Canva’s ability for content creators to share a design as embeddable HTML Code and Korbyt’s ability to display Embedded HTML code, it is possible to have an automated connection between content edited and stored in Cavna but displayed on Korbyt-controlled screens.

To accomplish this:

In Canva Share your design as HTML Embed Code

Build a Canva design/template

Select the Share button

Select Embed

Copy the HTML Embed code it generates

If you are not immediately ready to paste the code into Korbyt you may want to paste into a notepad

Canva Embed Design Help Document

In Korbyt Create a Layout and add the HTML Container

Create a new Layout, or open an existing one for Editing

Using The Builder Tool For Layouts Or Messages guide

Add the HTML Container Element

How to Use the HTML Container Element guide

Edit the Element through the Gear Icon

Click the Pencil and paste your HTML Embed code from Canva

Resize the HTML Container window as needed

If full-screen, you can use Properties > Maximize

Publish the Layout

Add your new Layout to a Playlist to make it seen

Configuring Clever Playlists

Now changes made in Canva to the design will be seen when Korbyt displays the HTML embed code.

BE AWARE – This method will increase your cause an increase in data traffic compaired to storing the item direclty in Korbyt because now for the design to be seen it will have to call the HTML code when the layout is displayed compaired to showing a cached image/file

Other Options for Canva and Korbyt

Korbyt Courier for Automatic import to Korbyt

Korbyt has built-in ability to connect to common cloud storage services OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, Box, and Adobe Experience Manager

Create a Courier in Korbyt to connect to your preferred service

Setting up Couriers guide

In Canva, when you complete a design save it to your preferred cloud storage service

The courier in Korbyt can check as frequently as every 30 minutes, if new items are present they will be imported from the cloud storage service to Korbyt.

You could then have a Clever Playlist that is automated based on your Media Manager folder or Tags to show the new content automatically

Players check for new content every 15 minutes, resulting in 45 min being the longest time it would take for automated content to be on a local player

Manual Importing to Korbyt

Always an option for the most detailed control of the flow of content.

Save your file from Canva to your Computer

Login to your Korbyt CSM and upload the design to your Media Manager

Microsoft Graph API serves as an interface for developers to interact programmatically with Azure Active Directory (AD), facilitating access to comprehensive user and group-related functionalities and data.

Korbyt Required Minimum Permissions

These permissions can be configured in the Azure AD application’s registration settings under “API permissions.”

It’s important to note that administrative consent may be required after adding these permissions, especially in environments where the application’s service principal lacks administrative privileges.

for our application’s functionality, the minimum permissions required are:

Group.Read.All

Requires Application Level access for this API Call

Delegated access is not sufficient

Essential for enumerating groups from Azure AD

Provides access to group-related information such as group name, description, memberships, and other properties

Required for Korbyt to efficiently manage and interact with groups within the Azure AD directory

User.Read.All

Requires Application Level access for this API Call

Delegated access is not sufficient

Required for enumerating users from Azure AD

granting access to comprehensive user properties and relationships, including the Security Identifier (SID)

The SID is a critical identifier assigned to each security principal in Windows operating systems, including Azure AD

Required for Korbyt to retrieve vital user information such as contact details, organizational data, and the SID, enabling seamless user management and interactions

We use the SID as a unique identifier when logging in Korbyt users.

User.Read

Required for Authenticating the individual user when they log in

Delegated Permission is sufficient for this API Permission

By securing these minimum permissions at the application level, our application can ensure secure and efficient access to group and user-related data within the Azure AD directory, while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

With the Group.Read.All and User.Read.All permissions in place, our application is well-equipped to fulfill its functionality of group and user enumeration, providing users with a seamless experience and facilitating effective user and group management within our system.

For more information on the steps of connecting Korbyt to your Azure AD please see

How to Manage CMS Users – Importing from Azure

How to Manager End Users of Desktop(InView) and Mobile&Web – Importing for Azure

The rest of this article explores the implications of Microsoft Graph API calls, and their effects so that you can better understand Korbyt’s need for the previously listed services.

Understanding Minimum Permissions Required for Group Enumeration

When utilizing Microsoft Graph API to enumerate groups from Azure AD, it’s essential to configure the appropriate permissions to ensure secure and efficient access to the required data.

The minimum permissions required for group enumeration are as follows:

Group.Read.All: – REQUIRED Application Level Access

This permission allows reading all groups within the Azure AD directory.

It provides access to group-related information such as group name, description, memberships, and other properties.

Group.ReadWrite.All: – Not Required and Not Recommended for Korbyt Access

In addition to reading group information, this permission grants the application the ability to modify group properties and memberships.

It provides full read and write access to all groups within the Azure AD directory.

Korbyt Does Not Want this level of access to your Azure Active Directory.

Understanding Group Member Read Permissions

While Group.Read.All and Group.ReadWrite.All permissions focus on accessing group-related information, so it’s crucial to differentiate the implications of using GroupMember.Read.All permission in this context.

GroupMember.Read.All: Not Required and Not Sufficient for Korbyt Access

This permission grants the application the ability to read the members of all groups within the Azure AD directory.

It provides access to user or application memberships within groups.

Important Consideration: Although GroupMember.Read.All allows reading group members, it does not provide permissions to enumerate groups themselves. This means that while the application can fetch information about group members, it lacks the capability to list the groups present in the Azure AD directory.

Understanding Minimum Permissions Required for User Enumeration

When leveraging Microsoft Graph API to enumerate users from Azure AD, it’s imperative to configure appropriate permissions to ensure secure and effective access to required data.

User.Read.All: REQUIRED Application Level Access

This permission grants your application the ability to read all user profiles within the organization’s directory.

It provides access to comprehensive user properties and relationships, encompassing details such as contact information, organizational data, and more. User.Read.All is sufficient for retrieving basic information about users.

User.ReadWrite.All: Not Required and Not Recommended for Korbyt Access

In addition to reading user profiles, this permission facilitates the modification of user data.

It empowers your application to both read and write all user properties within the organization’s directory, offering comprehensive access for data manipulation and management.

This permission is not recommended for Korbyt integration.

User.ReadBasic.All: Not Required and Not Sufficient for Korbyt Access

Does not include access to the SID

SID is required to identify the user when logging in

Application Level Permissions Required for Group and User Enumeration

To access the SID and other detailed properties of all users in the directory, Application-level permissions (also known as application-level or admin-level permissions) are required.
These permissions are typically granted by an administrator and apply to the entire directory.

Delegated Permissions grants access to just the signed-in user’s profile rather than the entire directly, meaning that the permission is granted by the signed-in user only for their own user profile and the profiles they have access to.
Therefore it is insufficient to read all groups or users who require access.

Understanding Minimum Permissions Required for User Login

User.Read: REQUIRED

Delegated access is sufficient for this API call

Used when the individual is requesting to log into Korbyt to verify their SID information within the organization’s Active Directory

You will want to have added your elements to your design before following these steps

In the Builder Tool, select the Advanced tab of the control panel

Click on the Lightning Bolt icon to open the Quick Actions and Data Triggers panel

If you have not added any elements to your design yet, you will only see the option for snippets

To add a New Quick Action, click the + to the right

Select Element – You will then be asked to select an Element

This is the element of the design that is going to be monitored for the intended trigger

It will be helpful if you have renamed your element layers to be clear to you

Tigger: After Selecting the Element you will select a Trigger from the drop-down

Click – the element is clicked/tapped

isShown – if the element is set to be shown

isHiden – if the element is set to be hidden

Timer – Set an amount of seconds

Action: Select the desired result from the drop-down

Show / Hide / Toggle Visibility – all change the state of an element displaying or not on the design

Add / Remove Class – Changes the classes of the element

Animate – Triggers a selected animation on the target element

Reload – Refreshed and reloads the target element

SubZone – Provides interactive instructions inside of an existing element calling up a webpage or another design

Player – Passes instructions to the player

Playlist / Carousel API – Passes instructions to a specific type of element to control the changing of items shown

Target: The item that the action will be taken on

Interaction / Class / Time

There may be new section that appears to the far right depending on the type of action and target element where further configuration may need to be set

In this example, A quick action has been built to allow a user to move the Playlist to the next item, by clicking on the Next Button

Click Apply Trigger to save the action

Multiple Actions can be created, and any element can be treated as the trigger element

Multiple elements can also be targeted with the action

In this example, a user clicking on the playlist is the trigger for showing the Playlist controls and making a hide controls button seen

Clicking the Hide Controls button hides all the control buttons.

Note on Visibility Toggles

If it is intended that an item be hidden unless some action is taken then it needs to be toggled as hidden in the Element Layer list when the design is published.
This is done by manually toggling the visibility with the eyeball icon

From my previous example, if the controls are intended to be hidden until someone clicks the playlist I would need to hide the control elements in the layers before publishing.

The Builder Tool is the GUI-based design system in Korbyt that allows you to create new Signage Layouts or Desktop Messages.
Both interfaces are very similar and function the same from a creative tool standpoint, but each has some options that are unique to either Signage Layouts or Desktop Messages

This article is going to focus on the Builder Tool itself, if you need information on the options and steps for creating or managing layouts please see

Saving and Publishing

Saving vs Publishing

When you are at a place you are happy with in your design it is advised to use the Save button at the bottom of the control panel to lock in your work. Otherwise, if you close your browser or navigate away from the builder tool all unsaved progress will be lost.
Saving will set the design to Draft status

Publish will not only save your work, but it will now be available to be shared and added to a playlist.

Saving without publishing only creates a record of your layout where you can still modify your content, but your layout will not be usable with other features across Korbyt Anywhere.

The Korbyt Amazon Web Service (AWS) Connect adapter establishes a real-time bridge between Amazon Connect and Korbyt Anywhere. This integration easily enables contact centers to display real-time key performance indicators using a templated adapter from Korbyt by filling in some information from your AWS Connect queue.

The Basics

This Korbyt Templated Adapter utilizes a real-time API that will map contact data such as call volume, hold time, and dropped calls to your Korbyt Anywhere tenant.

Once active you will be able to display your metrics throughout your Korbyt tenant including setting custom rules or data thresholds to give the agents and supervisors access to meaningful data they can use to action on.

The Korbyt Data Adapter will periodically check the data in the AWS Connect Queue and bring the data into Korbyt utilizing the AWS SDK node to ingest data from AWS connect.

There are two different commands that can generate two different data tables

Using getCurrentMetricData Korbyt requests agent staffing data and maps the following metrics into a data table

AGENTS_AVAILABLE

AGENTS_ONLINE

AGENTS_ON_CALL

AGENTS_STAFFED

AGENTS_AFTER_CONTACT_WORK, AGENTS_NON_PRODUCTIVE

CONTACTS_IN_QUEUE

OLDEST_CONTACT_AGE

CONTACTS_SCHEDULED

Using getMetricData Korbyt requests agent staffing data and maps the following metrics into a data table

CONTACTS_QUEUED

CONTACTS_HANDLED

CONTACTS_ABANDONED

CONTACTS_CONSULTED

CONTACTS_AGENT_HUNG_UP_FIRST

CONTACTS_HANDLED_INCOMING

CONTACTS_HANDLED_OUTBOUND, CONTACTS_HOLD_ABANDONS

CONTACTS_TRANSFERRED_IN

CONTACTS_TRANSFERRED_OUT

CONTACTS_TRANSFERRED_IN_FROM_QUEUE

CONTACTS_TRANSFERRED_OUT_FROM_QUEUE, CONTACTS_MISSED

CALLBACK_CONTACTS_HANDLED, API_CONTACTS_HANDLED

OCCUPANCY, HANDLE_TIME

AFTER_CONTACT_WORK_TIME, QUEUED_TIME, ABANDON_TIME

QUEUE_ANSWER_TIME, HOLD_TIME, INTERACTION_TIME

INTERACTION_AND_HOLD_TIME

SERVICE_LEVEL

If additional metrics are required, they may be available through the AWS API and Korbyt Professional Services can assist you in creating a custom data integration

Pre-requisites, Requirements, and Steps in AWS

To function correctly certain steps have to be taken in your AWS Account to configure and allow it to communicate with Korbyt.
The general steps below link to resources from AWS for control of their system

Create a new Amazon Connect instance for the integration, or use an existing instance.

Create a new IAM Policy that grants access only to the Connect Queues

Create a new IAM User and assign it the policy created previously

Generate a new secret\key for the User. This is used in Korbyt to create the adapter.

Creating the Data Adapter in Korbyt

With a Korbyt a Templated Data Adapter for AWS Connect you will only need to fill in some key details

Access key ID

Generated in AWS Account

Secret Access Key

Generated in AWS Account

Instance ID

Found in AWS Account

Region (us-east-1)

Refresh Interval

As low as 30 seconds

Faster intervals are possible when the real-time data add-on has been purchased

DEFINE Queues

Entering your Amazon Resources name in the Queue Field

Entering a familiar name for the Korbyt Table in the Name field
