Who doesn’t at some point have the need to send an high priority message or “Urgent Alert” to either a widespread audience or specific group of people, and what better if you can reach them across many different channels of communication? The ability to have a platform that can do this easily and efficiently is another one of the powerful traits of Korbyt.
This feature is so critical that it has it’s own quick-jump button:
The “Urgent Alert” feature allows you to quickly create a basic informative message and with a click of the mouse send that message at once to all of the following channels including Digital Signage, Phone Call, Desktop, Mobile Devices, Email, SMS Text, Sharepoint, and via direct messages using Twitter, Slack, and LinkedIn.
You can choose to target specific audiences or choose to send to all users in the system using “Global Audience”.
For an intended audience to receive the Urgent Alert, they must be created in KorbytGo and included in the Target Audiences.
When a KorbytGo user is created, information must be included for the user to be receive messages for each of the channels listed above.
In the user “Account” tab an email address must be included to receive Urgent Alerts via the Email channel.
In the user “Contact Info” a mobile phone must be included to receive Urgent Alerts via Phone Call or SMS channels.
In addition, account usernames for Twitter, Slack, and LinkedIn must be included to receive Urgent Alerts via these channels.

If you are using either the Korbyt Mobile App or Korbyt Desktop Client the messages are immediate, and you have the additional option to set a duration to the urgent alert. If you know that the fire drill will only last 5 minutes, why not include set to automatically expire the message after that time.
The Urgent Alert message when “Active” will display the time remaining.
Alerts can be created in advance of any actual emergency situations and saved in your alert library. It is recommended to to do this to minimize reaction time during an actual crisis.
Once an alert is created, you can “Activate” the message quickly with the slider button. Then also just as easily make it inactive.
An Urgent Alert message should have a brief and clear header to be understood at a glance. Then additional body content should succinctly describe an immediate action to take.
If using the popular KorbytGo mobile App you have the option of alerting the user in their notification area in addition to it showing in the app News feed and Notification List. Finally, you can require a response for your Audience. It would appear on their mobile device like this:
You are then able to view all received responses for that Urgent Message in Korbyt using the “Responses Result” action:
This will report the list of users that responded with their email address, response and time of their response.
Urgent Alert multi-channel messaging is one of the great strengths of Korbyt.
